picture from last night

Hey, just thought I should send you the picture from last night, as I said I would. From the left to the right; me, I look tubby in this photo, but it is just the fact that I am leaning forward, the biscuits haevn't been affecting me that much! Next to me is Jenn, she lives next door in room 39 and has a similar (but cooler) same taste in music as me, she is doing philosophy and is very nice, she is also going to the fratellis gig next month. Next to her is Nicola, she doesn't really drink, apparently she used to, and is just used to not doing so now, as she drives; she is getting her car up here this weekend, so we will no longer have to walk to the shops! She is doingEnglish lit (I think), and was head girl of her last school, she, like me, also doesn't like people squeezing too close on the dance floor, she also really likes dance music, and noodles. Rosie is the one on the end, she came on Saturday like me and is studying english and german, she also loves dance music and wants to go out and see famous DJ's (who i have never heard of), shes very well organised and very nice, she washed up my plate yesterday! I think that is all the relevant information I have on them. lol, everyone have fun.

26th?

Hey, have been doing bits and pieces since yesterday. Last night we went to hear the vice-chancellors address, which was good, he spokem and then all the sabbatical officers spoke. It was really terrible while the vice-president of the SU was speaking though, he asked us to put up our hands if we were from England, so obviously I did then he said "do you know how much you're paying for you tuition fees this year"< and i thought everyone was going to shout the answer (for some weird reason), so in front of about 800 people I yelled "twelve hundre..." before I realised no one else was joining in. It was so embarrasing, and I had hysterics. After the talk we went to the SU (we got in free by going to the talk), and me and Jenn (there were four of us) had a good time, although the music was a bit crap at first, however, nicola and rosie only dance to dance music, and there was stuff like muse and greenday and a load of other stuff i can't remember, so they had a rubbish time and we left really early.

We got back home and had toast and then went to bed as we had to go through enrolement today. Woke up, caught the bus, met a load of other people studying law etc and enroled massive queues, but ok. Came back ate lunch and now am reading and listening to the radio, all brill. Ooh, and Nick is coming to visit me, how exciting is that? He's coming on the weekend of the 19th of October for two nights! lol, am very happy, hope he likes Cardiff!

Anyway, am eating and reading so will keep you posted on everything some other time. Hope everyone else is having fun; keep in contact.

well i made it!

I'm here in Cardiff and having a brill time. Err, but first things first; I think I blogged on Friday? so I will begin from late Fri. We went for a meal at Pizza Express in Stamford; me, Nick, Mum, Jenn and Scott (cool American my mum is dating) (and before you say anything Jenn didn't mind the fact that me and mum had dates and she didn't, she shared Nick!) It was a really nice meal, and there were loads of photos and mum gave me a ring (as in jewellery) that she had made as a leaving present, it was really goregous and nice. We left quite early (11:00) and just went home to bed after we'd taken Nick home, as we had to be up at 5:30 tomz morning. I drove, as of yet (and probably for a while) I haven't driven alone, and I really wanted to.

In the morning we woke up not too late, and then left at about 6:40, instead of 6:00, however, the traffic was brill and we made it to Cardiff in three and a half hours. Took half an hour to find my halls, but I did, and unpacked, went out for a disastrous lunch with my mum (the paninis were rubbish). Then came back, mum left I unpcked and then met people in the kitchen. I am in the tower, which has 9 floors, and i am on floor 3, and there are 9 people on a floor, although there are ten rooms... Anyway, everyone on my floor is erally nice, err, we are all girls and at the moment there are eight of us (we don't know whether its an empty room the other, or whether the person is just late (they should have arrived yesterday). I could give you a brief description of everyone, but will do so as stories unravel. We (as a floor) have also made friends with a few people on fourth floor, a couple on second floor, and a few on eighth floor. Everyone is really friendly, and I cannot say that i have met anyone that I wouldn't want to talk to etc.

The first night was a bit rubbish, me and this other girl called Rosie, who looks startlingly like Sarah Ainslie went out in Cardiff, we were aiming for the SU freshers party, but it was sold out, so we wandred into a few places, not doing much (although it took about 4 hours), and by midnight we were both so knackered (we'd both got up at half five that morning), that we went home, but we walked, and our halls, we worked out, are three miles from the city centre, so we were knackered, etc.

Yesterday, Sunday, we didn't do much during the day, I went with Chris (Saunders), who is on the fourth floor(!) to buy tickets for the fratellis, Jack and Ed are coming down from Bath, and we are all going to go on the 13th of October. However, there was no advertising for the gig and so although I knew I hadn't made it up, I still felt worried. We had to queue an hour for them, as everyone was queueing for tickets for another freshers party. However, that was the least of our worries, it was the hour walk there and back that took it out of us, and I was knackered by the time I got home.

We recovered, and in the evening everyone went to Creation, a club in the centre of Cardiff also holding a Freshers party. I went with Rosie (the girl from the night before) and Nicola and Jenn, who had just come that day. It was a really good night as there was every type of music, well kind of, and so everyone was happy. Btw, I don't dance as wildly in front of strangers, so I didn't scare anyone). The only bad thing was that it was really packed so all the time people were bumping into you, which was really irritating. When we first got there I was surprised at the lack of flirting, everyone just seemed to stay in their own groups, apart from male groups of second years who did the circuit introducing themselves to female groups of freshers. However, at about one (it lasted until three), there was suddenly a change and suddenly sleazy guys were doing what tey could to talk to you. We laughed at them and turned away, I guess it added to our entertainment. Luckily, at the ned of the night we got a Taxi back, and then talked in our kitchen for a bit. Sam and Kerry, who had stayed in (surprisingly they are the most crazy out of us), and had played Ker-plunk, Scrabble and Dream Phone. As I have mentioned most, I'll mention the pther two, Charlie, who has really long hair, and has a car, and Laura, who has very long (but tied up) synthetic dreads of bright blonde and electric blue. She talks about them quite a lot. Err, otehr people who have crossed my path; err, ooh, Sarah Waller is here as well as Chris Saunders, but she's not in tower accomodation. Err, on the fourth floor is a guy called Danny ,who is really Northern and studying Law, he's a bit weird, in a crazy kind of way, and also very loud, but he said that if I needed to I could borrow his A-level Law textooks, which was really sweet (that's why my mum wanted me to go to Leeds, as, apparently everyone is friendly). Err, I know others, but it seems pointless to just list names.

I would have blogged earlier but getting onto the internet was really iffy, I had to run the CD about 10 times, and each time took three hours; really rubbish, but I am here now! Not much to do today; vice president/chancellors speak tonight, and then a gathering at the SU. UNitl then, need to go out and get something for tea, but apart from that pretty laid back, although I have enrolment tomorrow, so can't be too much of a late night.

Hope everyone is having as much fun as I!

phewf

Several things have happened over that last couple of days! I actually have something to talk about for a change. Friday, I started by ringing Sacrewell farm to book camping for my sister's party, however, like all good plans, it went to waste, as Sacrewell farm were having a food and farm festival and therefore there was no space, rang ferry meadows, but there was no space there either, so ended up ringing Northey lodge, on Whittlesey road (never been there), and they had space, so booked that. Then realised that I had to let Jenny know, or it wouldn't happen anyway, but her mobile was off, and she only had one of her friend's mobiles in the family address book, which was also off. Ended up ringing the school and giving her a message that way. Then went to coffee with Jules, Tom, Alex, Mark, Andrena and Mike. (i had invited watkins, but i had only realised that morning that his mob was broken, and so he wouldn't have been able to get the message, i rang his home phone, but he sleeps odd hours, and idn't pick up, i'm not actually quite sure where he is... hasn't been on msn for a while either!)

Anyway, went to coffee, which was to be our last trip with everyone there, as by the time Tom and Jules get back from holiday me, and Alex and Andrena will have already left for uni. It was good, and Nick joined us after a while (he was late as he'd been working), and we just sat and chatted. We all left, and I went to buy things from Waitrose, and Colemans and John Lewis. Then went back to Nick's for five mins before I went to catch my bus, so that i could get home and make flan before I went to the Colemans' leaving meal.

Made flan, which was fun, also made a separate, smaller flan for Nick, who refuses to believe I can cook, however, everyone says my flan is good, so I was willing to take the risk of eternal humilliation, lol. Finished making flan and writing cards for Liz and Joey, got ready and then realised it was already half seven, and i was meant to be there at half seven. By the time I got there, people had just begun there starters, and so i apologised profusely and sat down and ate. The food was wonderful, and after the first two courses Joey stood up and did a speech about us all, it was really brill, and we all got presents, I gave my cards and we all generally had fun and chatted and laughed. Everybody left a bit nippily at the end, me and Greg had to drain our teas to stop us from being left behind. Got home, and then went and picked up Jenny from her music trip at school and I got to drive back! Was fun, and I didn't crash!

Woke up the next morning for my last day at Colemans, Jenny decided she didn't want to go camping anymore as it was too much effort, so it meant that we had to phone everyone who was going to go, bit of a nightmare, but we don't know anyone who actually turned up, so it turned out okay. Walked down with Jenn to colemans, and preceeded to have a good day, taking lots of photos, well, apart from Leanne, who was really sick and surviving on virtually no sleep. When Liz came back at half three she took one look at her and took her home, she was so ill, we think it must have been some kind of food poisoning (hopefully not from the Colemans meal). Apparently Liz says that when they get the new hoover they will christen it Sarah! Bought way too much stationery at the end of the day, and then went home to tidy my room before Nick came. Managed to just about finish. Instead of going camping we took my sister to the Talbot for dinner to celebrate her birthday etc, she took loads of pictures, and we all had fun. Came back, had flan and was so tired that we all went to bed at half ten. Ah, ti was rteally funny (not that funny), quite alte at night, after we had gone to bed I heard a really weird beeping noise, three short beeps, and i was really confused about where it had come from, several possibilities arose in my mind, each of them even more ridiculous that the last, anyway, left it at that and went to sleep. The next morning woke, and after a while went had a shower etc. Glanced at my phone and realised it was my phone that had gone off, and I just had no idea what the message alert sounded like. For so many words, that story wasn't that funny, but nevermind.

Anyway, that just about brings me up to date, walked Nick to the bus stop this morning, as he has a "Pure" band practice, when Nick told Alex on Friday that he was in Pure, Alex stopped stock still, and said in a meaningful tone "do you realise how big this could be?", then she turned to me and repeated her comment, obviously she is quite excited! lol. Anyway, dropped him off, and then Mike texted asking when he could see me this week, I said apart from today I was really busy and so he replied by saying that that didn't matter he could come and see me today. So, its going to be an exciting afternoon...

Tomorrow I am seeing Andrena and Mike, and perhaps Alex and Mark, mostly so that Mike can fit a spare ethernet netword card into my computer, as he is very nice, and suitably knowledgeable, apparently its a piece of cake...? Anyway, will be having a fun week until Saturday/ Sunday when I go... looking forward to it, but i keep reading comments off myspace and msn names which say other people aren't enjoying it as much as they expected... nervous, but ready! lol.

15th September

Crazy, already half way through September. Exciting things I have done = not many. However, i have been doing a lot more driving, had my mock yesterday, not the best thing i have ever done; six minors, and six serious, but they were for really stupid things. Yet I could repeat stupid things i my test. Pete thinks I'll be okay though, so, well, we'll see.

Played and finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on the PS2 (obviously with Nick, I don't own any consoles and dont like killing things in case they kill me). It wasn't that brill, but for a 3+ game, surprisingly scary and difficult at times. Started to watch Sin City, surprisingly gory (Although as it was an 18 i suppose I shouldnt have been that surprised), but i had to leave for a contact lens appointment, so didnt have to endure the whole of it!

Have the last pseudo-coffee meeting today, as Jules and Tom are on holiday, unfortunately I forgot that Watkins' mobile broke, and cannot reach him, so he still doesn't know about it, but everyone else should, lol.

Not done much else, was meant to go dancing last night, but everyone was ill, so didn't go in the end, but tonight I have my Colemans leaving meal (there will be a tear in my eye), I have decided that i am going to make a chocolate flan for work tomorrow! And have to look out for a present for Joey and Liz/Colemans, etc, i think I might just get a range of really nice cards.

I now have to go and ring Sacrewell for my sister, as she has her birthday this Saturday (I'm going too, and if anyone wants to come, feel free, and invite everyone, but tell me first). Anyway, have to go and ring, everyone have fun...

Hello world

SO much has happened since I blogged last, that most exciting thing that i have been on holiday for a week! It was really brill, the best holiday I have been on for a while, like Jules I am just going to do various good moments;
  • Crazy car rides/ videoes with Ed, Jack and Matt, especially the roll over beethoven
  • Chocolate flan and a lot of cake
  • Winning bop it, with Mark, Jack, Ed and Matt
  • Walking for two and a half hours to eat a really good (ifa bit late) lunch, before walking home, which took only 25 mins by road
  • The fact that we drank mostly white wine, so when we spilt it, it hardly stained at all.
  • Master B, just in general, although there were many highlights
  • The suicide cult; me managing to sware, and make it look realistic!
  • Winning the quiz with Jack matt and Ed (we were by far the best Jules!
  • Oh, naked Ed, on his birthday, fine until Matt told Ali she could switch the light on
  • My bed, the one that was MINE and not Jack's!
  • Random films, especially K-pax, Battle Royale, Fight Club, That one with John Travolta where he dances to "There was a teenage wedding and the old folks wished them well". Aladdin
  • Going down the river in a rubber ring, behind a rubber dinghy, getting angry stares from a farmer in a tractor
  • A really mean man who wouldn't tell us about fishing
  • The lack of towels (who on earth wouldn't bring one?)
  • The range of underwear I got from Stu and Ali for my birthday (Alex's umberella, Beth's teddy and Jack and Ed's lotery ticket and Macaroni cheese were also very nice)
  • Matt punching a light switch and breaking it.
  • Our yellow rubber ball
  • Songs, mostly, the fratelli's, roll over beethoven, wild wild west, and I ain't sayin' she's a goldigger
  • The osngs we made up; "We're in a place called the district of the lakes", and "his name was bambi"
  • Climbing a mountain near Pillar (it was very foggy)
  • Skiing down the other side of the mountain (I took twice as long as everyone else)
  • Fighting for the bathroom,, luckily most people were either nice, or naked, therefore unable to fight properly!
  • Family Guy, futurama and black books,
  • The fact the DVD player had no remote
  • All the appliances being rubbish, namely the washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher
  • Calum doing the washing up
  • The murder mystery, where watkins knew who was the murderer as he caught sight of tom's card
  • The christmas lights in the cottage
  • The man who came to check on us, who no one could understand, and his random daughter who stood in our garden for ten minutes
  • Perudo, Mah jong
  • Hide and seek, being hidden in a box and ratchett screw driver
  • Getting there and taking a long cut through single track roads
  • Jack directing Ed round Keswick on a "short cut" that took us to the back of the queue
  • That sticky frog, the blue one
  • Making jokes about all the couples at various times, and what they were all doing, don't ask me to repeat it
  • MOving all the beds, and then moving them back again
  • Playing crazy golf, did Mark win in the end? And all MAtt's holes in ones that no one saw
  • A lot of tea and bisuits, but not as many as i thought there would be
  • Taking down all the breakables in the lounge and our room
  • Everything that included laughing, or having a good time...

Anyone with anyother suggestions, comment them and I will add them in, we should all get together and write a list of the best bits, like we did with all our other holidays, ahh well, never mind.

So apart from the holiday I haven't done much, been driving, I have my test next thursday, I might pass, perhaps... I have seen a lot of Nick recently, which has been good, spent the last ocuple of nights at his. He's started work, and is doing fast track A-level physics, so is busy-ish. Been shopping and bought a new top, which I really like (I wore it on Tues). Went to the Met on tues, and saw a load of people, it was good. Nick didn't come, as he had been invited by his dad for a curry, so met him afterwards to walk home with him and siblings and siblings partners, which was fun (they were all a bit tipsy).

SInce then haven't done much, apart form try and organise my sisters birthday party, I am supervising it, and so am inviting anyone who wants to go to sacrewell farm on Saturday night from 7 onwards, if you can only turn up late, do so anyway (I know matt lowes party is also on), but turn up and make the night more bearable and fun, but tell me before you turn up to make sure we have enough space in tents etc, bring anyone you want, well, nearly anyone! lol.

Hope to see a few people there, but if not then I will see people around, I'll try and keep blogging while at uni, so watch this space! (Now I have to go and read my previous blogs as apparently joycee has commented on them!)

Everyone have a brill end of summer!
